What type of flooring do you offer?

We offer carpeting, residential and commercial, luxury vinyl tile, vinyl sheet flooring, hardwoods and laminates.


Do you measure and install flooring?

Our sales staff professionally measures every job. We will give a detailed estimate and provide recommendations of installers for you to schedule at your convenience.


What is your policy regarding information I give you?

Burkey's Furniture is committed to the privacy of our customers. Any information collected by Burkey's Furniture will not be provided to a third party individual or company. Customers on our mailing list may receive periodic mailers of special events. In the course of mailers, a customer’s address may be provided to a company distributing the mailer. This mailing company is restricted from using any address beyond its intended purpose.


What are the common terms and warranty?

Seller shall not be responsible for delays in delivery of merchandise occasioned by manufacturer’s scheduling, stock on hand, availability of materials, transportation difficulty, or any other causes beyond the control of the seller.  SELLER CAN DESIGNATE A DAY FOR DELIVERY. Buyer assumes all risks associated with transportation of merchandise picked up. Seller cannot move, haul, or rearrange existing furniture. Seller makes no warranty beyond any written description itemized on this order. Such disclaimer does not affect manufacturer warranty, if any.


State of Maryland Laws prohibit returns on any bedding products.



A 50% deposit on all sales. Payment required in full before delivery. Any returns, exchanges, or cancellations are subject to seller’s approval and must take place within two days. A minimum restocking fee of 25% will be applied, with a minimum charge of $50. No returns or refunds on special orders.

Driving Directions:

Burkey's Furniture is conveniently located on Route 40, National Highway, in LaVale, MD. One mile east of McDonalds on National Hwy (900 National Hwy). Driving from Rt. 68 East or 68 West: Take exit 40 and turn left at the bottom of the ramp. Drive 2/10 of a mile and turn right onto Route 40 National Hwy. We are one mile on your right.

Will Burkey's remove my old furniture?

Yes, we will remove your old furniture. There is a fee for this service depending on the item. Please ask at the time of purchase.


What will be the cost for my delivery?

Deliveries are available for a reasonable charge.  Charges vary based on your location and distance. Your furniture will be set up in your home by our trained, professional delivery staff. Please allow for a clear pathway from the entrance to the room in which the furniture or mattress will be placed.  Rooms must be cleared in preparation for your delivery. Our drivers cannot remove or move existing furniture or electronic items. Our delivery staff will call to verify your delivery prior to your scheduled date.


What is the Express Delivery policy?

All IN STOCK items are available for delivery within a few days if delivery is to our local delivery area. See store for details.


How do you handle buildings, complexes and elevators?

Most apartment buildings and complexes have certain delivery time and elevator restrictions.  Please let us know if there are building restrictions when scheduling your delivery.


What is your delivery area?

Our regular delivery area includes all locations within a 40-mile radius, including Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Some restrictions may apply. Feel free to inquire about our special delivery pricing to other areas.


What are the benefits of having furniture delivered?

With a delivery from Burkey's Furniture, you may rest assured that your furniture will be completely assembled and placed into your home. Our customers tell us that they enjoy knowing that their new furniture is well cared for and arrives in excellent condition.


Is Pickup Available?

Pickups are available. If you choose to pick up your own products, they may be boxed and need assembled.  Also, you may waive some of the critical warranty benefits. Please bring an appropriate sized vehicle with pads and securing ties.  Please present a photo ID when picking up your merchandise. Buyer assumes all risks associated with transportation of merchandise picked up.

Helpful Tips to Consider...


When you plan for your furniture order pick up:

Our customers tell us that they have found that a little advanced planning prior to picking up their order has saved them a lot of time and expense. May we offer the following tips?


  • We offer a convenient pick up schedule, available between 10AM - 4PM, Monday-Friday. Other times may be arranged; however a nominal service fee may be applied. For any pick up, we request that you make arrangements a minimum of 24 hours in advance. This will assure that we will have the appropriate staff available to meet your needs.

  • Unlike when receiving a delivery at your home, picking up an order requires some additional planning. Customers will want to be prepared to load their own order and to use their own packing supplies, blankets, rope or any other items that you anticipate needing for transportation to your home. We regret that due to liability issues, we are not able to assist you with loading your vehicle or in providing packing supplies.

  • Some customers request that items remain boxed from the time we receive them from our vendor until they pick up their order. We may accommodate this request, however, since we will not be able to personally inspect the items at time of delivery, we cannot be held responsible for the condition of the item.

  • Assuming we are able to properly inspect the item prior to time of pick up, we are happy to assure the quality of the order. At the time of your pick up, we will request that you sign a satisfactory acceptance of the product. We regret that we may not be responsible for any damage that may occur after this point.

  • As you plan for your furniture order pick up, please remember that it is important to consider the size of your items in comparison to the size of your vehicle. You may be amazed how often customers are disappointed when their order does not fit into their vehicle. Again, a little advance planning pays off!

How long will it take to get my furniture?

If it’s in stock you may receive it as soon as the next available delivery day. We make delivery easy for you!


How long does special order furniture take to arrive?

Due to supply chain issues, special orders presently take 8 to 12 months from date of purchase. We regret that we have no control over manufacturing shipping times.

Can I purchase this sofa in a different fabric?

Most of our sofas come in hundreds of fabrics and colors. Note: some special items, however, may be limited to specific fabric selections.






What type of payments are accepted?

For your convenience, we accept cash, your personal check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.


What type of payment do you require at the time of purchase?

We ask for a fifty percent deposit at the time of purchase, with final payment being due at the time of delivery.


What is your cancellation and return policy?

Stock orders may be canceled within 2 days of the date of purchase. Credit will be issued with a 25% restocking charge (minimum $50). We regret that we are not able to accommodate refunds on special orders. After merchandise is received, all sales are final, with no returns being accepted.




Warranty & Repair


What if a problem occurs after one year from making the original purchase from Burkey's Furniture?

The manufacturer’s warranty dictates how long and what parts of furniture are covered.  This varies depending on the manufacturer.  We ask you to consult the manufacturer’s warranty for specific details. We offer a one-year labor warranty on all sales (Unless item is sold "As-is")


Do you repair furniture that is out of warranty?

We repair any goods that are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. Once the item is out of warranty, we are no longer responsible, but may make accommodations for you.


Do you repair furniture bought form another store?

We regret that we may only provide service on items which were originally purchased at Burkey's Furniture and Carpeting.


What do I do if my furniture is damaged?

The first thing to do is to notify our Service Department within 3 days of delivery. Detailed information can be found on your sales ticket.


We limit servicing on products to 5 years from date of sale.
